Pupils will repeat, remember and form dance phrases. They will improvise dance phrases to create their own dances. Pupils will translate ideas from a stimulus to plan and then create dances, incorporating rhythm and expression. They will use control and ensure fluency between dance movements when performing.
Pupils will use their own ideas to create their own gymnastic sequences as well as composing group sequences. Different types of apparatus and equipment will be incorporated into pupils sequences as a method for improvement. Pupils will watch others sequences and compare and contrast them, using others ideas to improve their own performances.
Pupils will be able to follow rules that are needed in order to play a game. They will be able to throw and catch a ball exercising control. Pupils will use the available space effectively in order to try to win a game by moving around the area to support team mates and cause problems for their opponents. They will learn skills to keep and gain possession of the ball.
Pupils will run at varying speeds, changing speeds on demand as well as direction. They will be able to participate in relay activities, selecting the order of runners effectively and using tactics in order to win. Pupils will be able to compose and repeat a short sequence of jumps which are linked. They will also link running and jumping with some fluency and control. When throwing different objects, they will aim to improve their accuracy and distance thrown, changing action where appropriate.
