Congratulations to Year 4 who represented Riverside in an inter school dodgeball tournament.
Congratulations to Sophie in Y3 who made it to the final ten of the “Wor Flags” competition. She presented her design to a panel at St James Park. Sophie’s design will be incorporated into a flag which will be displayed at a game later on this season. Well done to Niamh as well who supported Sophie in this event!
Congratulations to the Y5/6 hockey team who won the Hockey Competition at the Parks Centre on 29th March!
They scored 15 goals and didn’t concede any, winning every game bar one which they drew.
Fantastic result for Riverside!
Our KS2 classes entered the Virtual Tyne and Wear Fantastic Four Challenge where they completed a series of challenges linked to boccia, hockey, rugby and netball. This challenge involved schools from North Tyneside, Newcastle, Northumberland, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Durham and Sunderland.
Congratulations to Year 6 who came sixth in this event and first in North Tyneside! What a fantastic achievement!
In addition, we have ordered vest tops for pupils in our Sports Council. This is so that they can be easily identified when they lead activities at break and lunchtimes.
We have ordered new PE kits for our pupils to wear when we take part in inter school competitions! Check out our fantastic pupils modelling our new kit!
We are delighted to welcome Access Coaching back into our school. They will be working with Year 3 and 4 pupils this year, initially delivering golf and archery. After receiving several weeks coaching, the pupils will be entered into virtual inter school competitions.
We are also welcoming NUFC into our school again this year and the pupils will be coached by Lewis Richardson who will be coaching all pupils across the school over the course of the year.
Pupils at Riverside are going to be given the opportunity to have an extra 15 minutes of active playtime every week.
Children have been arranged into houses: Hadrian, Tyne, Lindisfarne and Cheviot.
Pupils will be awarded class dojo points throughout the week.
The house with the most points at the end of the week, in each class, will be awarded 15 minutes of extra active playtime 1.45-2pm.
