Pupils will remember and repeat dance phrases. They will dance imaginatively, choosing dance movements to express an idea, mood or feeling. They will perform their dance with co-ordination and control, changing elements in their dance such as speed, level, direction and rhythm. Pupils will be able to explain the mood and feeling of the dances they and others have created.
Pupils will plan and create sequences by themselves and with a partner. The sequences will show a variety of movements which pupils will perform with control. Pupils will also explore a variety of gymnastic sequences.
Pupils will follow the rules of a game and stay in the designated area for the duration of the game. They will demonstrate control when kicking, rolling and hitting the ball and they will decide the best place to stand to receive or make a pass during the game, explaining reasons for their decision. They will begin to use tactics in order to win games, selecting strategies effectively and appropriately.
