Homework provides opportunities for reinforcement of work learned during school time and for children to develop their research skills. Children need to recall and seek information and by doing so, are helped along the path to becoming independent learners.
Having the responsibility of needing to meet deadlines promotes self-discipline, an attribute which will impact on school work and beyond.
Year 5 will receive homework on a Friday.
Each week this will include:
All homework will be due in the following Friday morning. Children who do not return their homework will lose time from their Plus Time. Children who persistently do not return homework will be asked to attend homework club where they will receive support to complete it on time.
Homework club runs on a Wednesday after school from 3.15pm to 4.00pm. It is ran by Mrs White.
Learning Logs give children an opportunity to show their own interests through researching and creating work around events in the world or locally or linked to their learning in school. Children can make models, sketch or show their creativity in any means which interests them to complete weekly projects / tasks.
Learning Log activities are given out to children on Thursdays and are due in and shared with the class the following Thursday.
