At Riverside Primary School, we aim to inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world.

• We aim to develop a strong interest of their own surroundings in the world to inspire them to develop a sense of identity through this.
• We aim to develop their appreciation of physical and human features in the world, creating recognition for our pupils of some of the important geographical patterns revealed in different types of landscape.
• We aim to develop pupils’ understanding, knowledge and skills by fieldwork wherever possible, encouraging pupils to work together and become competent in skills necessary to carry out geographical enquiry.
• We aim to ensure pupils appreciate the significance of people's beliefs, attitudes and values within the world, promoting tolerance and understanding by emphasising a multi-cultural approach to the subject.
